Building An Empire With Email Lists

You’ve heard that saying “the money is in the list”, right? Well, it’s true, engaging with your clients and potential clients through regular updates can really help drive revenue for your business.

Nowadays our clients are everywhere on social media so contacting them is easier than ever. That said not all clients are on the same social media networks and some on none at all, so how do we maintain these relationships without visiting every single client each month?

The answer, of course, is email.

Whilst social media might be the new kid on the block nothing is more consistent then reaching your customers in their inbox whenever you need to. We are not suggesting that you email them daily by the way, nobody likes spam.

Firstly, you are going to need a lead capture signup form on your website that auto-populates a mailing program, as you can see we use MailChimp but there are a ton of other programs to choose from.

Next, you need to have something to offer them, a free ebook, a competition or your latest industry white paper that’s going to help them for free. Well sort of, to get it they need to sign up to your list of course.

Once you have your content or competition in place, go back to social media and share your offer, ebook, contest or white paper in groups and places where your customers gather.

For example, if you work in the wedding industry in a B2C business then look for groups on weddings and help brides and grooms directly with your offer and you will naturally gain subscriptions.

Now that you have your email list, don’t just jump in with your sales pitch. It’s time to drip-feed regular free helpful content.

This feed of useful and thoughtful information will keep your business’s brand in front of your clients on a regular basis, meaning that when they next need your type of service or product they are going to think of you.
