How And When To Use Hashtags
Hashtags ‘#’ are a simple way to make your social posts searchable on social media networks such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram. This allows you to gain extra reach and interaction without paying.
When writing your post or sharing your blog to a social network consider the content of the posts and what would be relevant, these could be:
- A Geographic Area / City / Town.
- A Product Type.
- A Brand Name.
- Your Business Name or other things that are related to it.
Be wary of using any term without first checking them in the network, sometimes # are used for unrelated things and you may not want your product, service or brand becoming associated with them.
Use # sparingly, just because you can think of 100 different tags it doesn’t mean you should use them all, consider the most important or the tags that your clients are most likely to search for.
With a well thought out hashtags, your campaigns can get the reach they deserve.
